† The most basic definition of a “Christian” is someone who follows Jesus Christ.
† When Jesus was on this earth (approximately 2000 years ago) He proclaimed that He was God in human flesh. He taught that He had come to earth (from heaven) to die for every one of us who had ever or would ever live, paying the penalty for our sins.
† He proved that He had the power to forgive the sins of any person who believed that He was indeed God and that put their faith (trust) in Him as their Savior from sin and its consequences.
† So, an expanded definition of a “Christian” is anyone who believes in Jesus as their Savior from sin and seeks to follow His teachings.
“But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom[a] the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.” (Galatians 6:14 NKJV™)
“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28 NKJV™)
